Orbis Intrinsically Safe Conventional Optical Smoke Detector

The Orbis Intrinsically Safe Optical Smoke Detector works using the light scatter principle and is ideal for applications where slow-burning or smouldering fires are likely.

The design of the Orbis Intrinsically Safe Optical Smoke Detector allows it to respond to a wide spectrum of fires. The sensing chamber contains an optical sensor that measures back-scattered light as well as the more usual forward scattered light. As a result, the sensitivity to black smoke is greatly improved.

  • Reduces false alarms.
  • Recommended for early warning of a fire in most areas.
  • Improved sensitivity to black smoke.
  • Compensation for slow changes in sensitivity.
  • Algorithms for reliability of alarm.
