Channel 7 Docklands

Ampac protects Channel 7's main broadcasting facility for the whole of Australia.

Channel 7’s building is located at Melbourne’s picturesque docklands. It is only a few minutes walk for the 300 people that work in the building to the heart of the CBD. The purpose-built facility is now the headquarters and main broadcasting facility for the whole of Australia. There are two main studios within the building where the news and a current affairs program are filmed every day.

The EV3000 Emergency Warning and Intercom System (EWIS) consists of a 29u cabinet with 5 Emergency Warning System (EWS) zones and 5 Emergency Intercom System (EIS) zones.

EV3000 120 watt power amplifiers were used to overcome the sheer size of the studios and production areas, and a further 40-watt amplifier was used to cover the office areas. The sleek design of the overall system complemented the building’s interior.

“The installation went without a hitch as Ampac supplied what we wanted in a timely fashion.” - Graham Alderman, Australian Sound Services
